"Sleepy" Dick Dykeman started his first business adventure in the
automotive industry. His next adventure was the RV business, as we know now as Hastings Motor Sales Inc.- Dykeman's Camper Place located at Burlington & Hwy 6. It all started in and around a small trailer house and a vacated car wash.
 Hastings Motor Sales was the FIRST Excel dealer.
Sales started with toppers and pickup campers. The
most memorable song was "Porta Potty" which was aired on the local radio station bringing smiles to everyone who heard it.
 The RV business started growing and orders of travel trailers and motor homes were regularly delivered to a steady traffic of customers. People would stop just to check what was new or just to say hello and would always leave with a smile.
Today with the growing size of RV's units from 38' 5th wheels to 40' deisel pushers surround the business. The additional canopies on the south lot and a new building to warehouse large units has made Hastings Motor Sales - Dykeman's Camper Place an RV Shopping Mall.
None of this would have been possible without YOU THE CUSTOMER.
